Cement is a complex material
which our clients use in many
different ways.
HM
Cements Limited
has continuously invested in
better understanding of cement.
Long-standing experience and the
wide diversity of the Group
(which also offers our clients
ready-mix concretes and concrete
tiles) have provided
HM
Cements Limited
with unrivalled understanding of
the impact that the raw
materials and the industrial
process have on the intrinsic
properties of
HM
Cements Limited
cements and their qualities in
use as perceived by our clients.
Cement develops its strength on
the content of Tri-Calcium
Silicate (C3S). Tri-Calcium
Silicate is formed by the fusion
of Calcium & Silica in the
burning process in the Rotary
Kiln. We are maintaining a
minimum of 55.0 Percent of
Tri-Calcium Silicate in our
clinker. As a result of this we
are achieving 3 days strength of
more than 36 MPa.

Consistent Quality
HMCL
Shakti 53
provides consistent
quality, day after day,
bag after bag. Fineness,
compressive strengths,
setting times, soundness
and chemical compounds
are consistent due to
proper design and
control systems. With
properly selected
aggregates and good mix
design, each batch of
concrete is of uniform
strength.
For critical
load-bearing structures,
HMCL
Shakti 53
is the first choice of
architects and civil
engineers because they
are able to plan and
schedule concreting
activities without loss
of time and money.

Construction Practices:
-
Foundation trench
should be upto
proper depth as per
design, well rammed
or consolidated
-
No dry concrete
should be poured in
waterlogged
foundation trench.
Water should be
boiled out during
casting. A dug well
deeper than
foundation trench
will help to boil
out water.
-
Bricks to be used
should be soaked in
water dipping them
in water if possible
for a night.
-
The mixed cement
mortar should be
completely used
within 4 hrs
-
There should be no
deviation in design
proportion. It may
result in economy
but effects life of
structure.
-
Some structures
should be free from
foreign materials eg
mud, salt, rotten
materials etc.
-
Size at stone chips
should be well
graded and angular
-
At best 28 litres of
water should be used
per bag of 50 kgs
cement
-
Vibrator should be
used vertically
-
No column should be
cast more than a
height of 1 mtr in
single go.
-
All work should be
very well cared
-
Make all efforts to
make structure free
of honey crushing.
